Bali WISE
Mimi + Marge is proud to be sponsoring two young women from Indonesia in the Bali WISE (Women of Indonesia Skills Education), which is committed to making a difference to the lives of Indonesian women by breaking the poverty cycle through its programs. These programs include Basic Work and Life Skills, Vocational Skills Training and Gender Equality workshops and seminars.
Since 2007, the training programs assist more than 110 women each year to develop skills that allow access to improved employment options. 80% of graduates accessed full-time employment skilled positions with a salary above the minimum wage. For more information or to donate, please contact Bali WISE.
Congratulations to Kadek (left) and Marsi (right) who now have a brighter future ahead!
Ever travel to another country and witnessed the tragic state of animal treatment?
The Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) is a not-for-profit charity registered in Indonesia. Their aim is to relieve suffering, control the population and improve the health of Bali's street dogs, through medical care, spay/neutering, street-feeding, puppy adoption and education of school children.
This charity is close to our heart, as one night we witnessed a dog suffering – someone had tied a rope around its neck as a puppy and as the dog grew, the rope became embedded in the flesh around his neck. The smell of the rotting flesh was overwhelming. The dog was suffering and would soon die a slow painful death. We made, what was thought of to be a fruitless call, to BAWA to seek help. We were very surprised that they came to rescue the dog. It took three attempts to find him and instead of euthanizing the dog, they were able to treat him.
All profits from the sale of our BAWA jewelry goes to the Bali Animal Welfare Association.
For more than 12 years, we have been proudly donating to BWSS; Battered Women's Support Services. The mandate behind BWSS is:
We contribute to the freedom and liberation of girls and women from violence and to empower our community through training and education programs. For over 35 years, we have been providing counselling and healing spaces for those who have experienced abuse.

The Auntie Grace Society
Since 1998, Mimi + Marge has been donating food and money to the Sovitry Orphanage located in Denpasar, Indonesia. The Orphanage is run by one family, Mrs. Elizabeth Sovitry, WITHOUT any government funding. They generously take care of 29 children in their modest four bedroom house. Auntie Grace was created in 2004 to help raise money.
